
Martin Calhoun
Mr. Calhoun has extensive experience representing clients in complex lawsuits in federal and state courts throughout the country during hearings and all other phases of pre-trial proceedings, in jury trials, and on appeal. His litigation experience includes:
- examining witnesses and making arguments at trial;
- presenting oral arguments in trial court and federal circuit court hearings;
- taking and defending numerous depositions of fact and expert witnesses;
- preparing fact and expert witnesses to give deposition and trial testimony;
- locating and selecting expert witnesses;
- assisting experts in preparing expert reports;
- drafting and editing complex summary judgment motions, motions to exclude experts’ opinions (Daubert/Federal Rule of Evidence 702 motions), and other motions;
- investigating actual or potential claims by analyzing voluminous collections of documents and interviewing witnesses;
- drafting and editing discovery requests and responses to discovery requests;
- analyzing documents to make responsiveness and privilege determinations.
Mr. Calhoun has developed successful litigation strategies and implemented them through his own efforts and by managing and collaborating with attorneys throughout the country. He has worked at large law firms (Williams & Connolly and Holland & Knight) and a litigation boutique with a national practice (Hollingsworth LLP).
